Corporate Identity Questionnaire

1)   What is your business?
We make nutritional apps for smart phones.

2)   Describe your business in one sentence
We provide alternative options for unhealthy foods that will satisfy our customers cravings and in a more healthy way, and deliver this information through apps for smart phones.

3)   Who is your target audience?
Men. Women. Athletes. Young Adults. Health Conscience Individuals.

4)   Who are your competitors?
Other Nutritonal Apps

5)   What makes them better/worse than your product/service?
I think that many other nutritional/health apps only give recipes and healthy foods to eat. My app is better than these services because my app users will be able to type in the unhealthy food that they want to eat, and we will provide them with various other options that are similar to the unhealthy food they want to eat, but with different elements that make it more healthy.

6)   Do you currently have an identity?
     N/A

7)   (If your answer to #6 is no, skip this question)  What do you like about it and what don’t you like about it?
I really like the concept of my business and have not seen many other apps like this one.  It can be complicated because there are so many options of food and so many different views on what is thought to be healthy and what is not.  These opinions change daily.

1)   How do you want your image to be seen in two years?
We want to be seen as a top reliable source for nutritional facts.

2)   If your company was an animal, what animal would it be and why?
I would want my company to be a bird.  It represents the free will and confidence that I want my customers to have after using my app.  I want them to feel confident to go wherever they want to because they feel comfortable in their body with their new healthy lifestyle.

3)   If your company/brand was a person, who would it be and why?
I would choose Erin Brockovich because she embrace the confidence and determination that I want my consumer market to possess.  It is the will power to never give up on a healthy lifestyle and the confidence of success that I want my consumers to be motivated to achieve by using my app.

4)   If your company/brand was an object, what would it be?
It would be a bunch of fruits and vegetables.

5)   If your customer was a cartoon character, who would it be?
I would take the logo that I have already created (the character made of all various fruits and vegetables) and make him into a cartoon character.

Custom Graphic

For this graphic, I chose to create a space scene by collecting several images from the internet such as the earth, shooting star, plane, astronauts, and moon.  I created a gradient background and the pale orange portion of the background is the edge of the Sun.  The moon was placed in the picture by using a preset brush that I created.   All images were found from google images.  http://www.google.com

Photoshopped In Assignment

For this assignment, I chose to photoshop a picture of myself onto a mountain top in Figi!

Bubbles

The above picture is what I used as a reference to create the bottom image, and I decided to enhance the colors by choosing a gradient background so the colors of the bubbles would stand out against the backdrop.

Tummy Teller Logo

I chose to create my logo in this way because it better emphasized the purpose of using the Tummy Teller product, that if you eat heathy you will feel and be healthy.  All the body parts of my character are types of fruits and vegetable.  I chose the types of foods that I did for my logo because I felt that the colors blended well and it was not too eye popping or overwhelming. Although there are clashing colors, I believe that the logo becomes more distinguishable and the different foods are able to be identified easily.  I created the different foods by doing them all separately and then putting them together.  I viewed other images as a reference to help me look at detail and to draw the images as realistic as I could.   I also think that the text compliments the image of the product as being clean and it stands out.

Logo Comparison

The MLB logo is effective.  It is simple and uses the American flag colors, which symbolizes baseball as an all American sport.  The target audience is narrow since it markets to baseball players and patrons of the sport.  I believe that the logo is effective because even though I am not a supported of the sport, I was able to easily define what the logo was for.  The logo is straightforward in its design because it features an outline of baseball player hitting a baseball and differentiates itself by the use of its colors, which also is an indicator that it is for major league baseball.

The Nike symbol, although contains no words and nothing more than the swish sign, is effective.  It is a symbol that has gained recognition and is understood universally as a representation of Nike.  The logo is simple and is able to stand alone because of its bold design and it targets all ages because the sports company provides various products.

The Good Year logo stands out to me because of its bold green and yellow colors but I am unsure of what the shoe and wings represent since it is a tire company. I am able to identify this company just by looking at the shoe and wings because I never did understand their purpose for including these images; it is my misunderstanding that makes it memorable. All would understand the logo because the company name is included in the logo, which is also another key component of this logo that makes it recognizable.

The Ray-Ban logo is simple and is obvious.  It is an effective logo because of its style of writing used in the logo and the simplicity of just having the name of the company displayed as the logo.  I believe that Ray-Ban is just as effective as the Nike symbol because it is so simple and it has a wide target audience.  Anyone that owns a pair of sunglasses has probably heard of Ray-Ban because of its good reputation.

There is a clear indication that this logo is for the advertisement of the 2012 Olympics in London and it is an ineffective ad.  It is a complex logo because of its very different messages,  I am unsure if it is promoting or bashing the summer olympics.  The colors are bright and attracting but the message is unclear.  Everything looks out of place and un-proportional which makes it hard to focus on what is being said.    I am unsure what audience this logo is trying to focus on and it is not a memorable ad.

Pumpkin Word Art

Logo Sketch Ideas

My product, Tummy Teller, is able to tell you exactly what your body is craving when you are feeling hungry and indecisive about what to eat, and also gives you nutritional options to satisfy your hunger.  My logos reflect this idea because if you eat healthy, you will be healthy, and the face of the product is the character made out of all different fruits and vegetables.  I also chose to use the slogan "Be the healthy you" as a type of mantra for my product because you can achieve a healthier lifestyle if you use the Tummy Teller.

Part 1: Fictional, Non-Traditional Company

Teleporter

This is a movie theatre set up, but there is no movie.  Sit back and relax in one of our plush recliners and take an instant vacation. Once you sit down, the chair is able to read your emotions and determines what destination best fits your mood and will be a quick pick-me-up if you are feeling down.

Grumble Gone/ Tummy Teller

When in doubt about what you want to eat, use the Grumble Gone or Tummy Teller to tell you exactly what your body is craving and the nutritional way of satisfying your hunger.

Speed Reader

Cramming for a test?  Too many chapters to read and not enough time?  No problem.  This device comes in the form of glasses that help to speed up the movement of your eyes so that you cover more material in little time.  Also, you are able to retain more information without the feeling of brain overload.

Swapps

A change is always nice, especially when it comes to a whole new wardrobe.  Swapps is a clothing boutique in which you are able to trade your old fashions for the newest and latest styles.  Even better, there is no cost involved.  Just bring in your out-dated threads and you will be leaving with the "It" styles of the the season. There is nothing like feeling good knowing that you look good.

Jump

The newest sports shoe to hit the market.  It is like having a trampoline at your feet.  Jump, run, whatever, you will be the most graceful athlete out there.  Reach for the stars (literally) with Jump Footwear.  You will reach great heights.

Heart

For my first digital arts assignment, I was to create a heart using all different sorts of codes.  It is not the best heart, but for my first try with digital arts, it is not too bad.  I am a little unsure of how to post the heart but I can give you the code that I used for it and you can check it out!

Nice of you to stop by!

Hi everyone ! Obviously, as it says above, my name is Daniella and I am happy to say that this is my very first blog!  I have always wanted to start one but I never knew how, but now that I do, it's pretty cool.  Anyways, I'll try to keep this post short and sweet.  Im a junior at the University of Tampa and I am currently studying Advertising and Public Relations, and minoring in Marketing.  I think that digital arts will be extremely helpful for my major for the reason that digital arts plays a major role in media advertising and it will be a great skill to know for my future in advertising. That's all for now, but I hope you have learned a little about me so far.  More posts to come !
